We are pleased to invite you to the inaugural concert of the Deutsch-Chinesischen Kulturvereins Horizonte. 6. April 2024, an evening of musical brilliance and intercultural fusion awaits you.

This special event marks the founding of our association and symbolises the cultural bridge we wish to build between China and Germany. Experience the harmonious blend of Chinese and German cultures and immerse yourself in a world where music transcends borders.

As the first event of our association, we have deliberately chosen Chinese music and instruments as the theme for this concert, expressing our commitment and passion for cultural exchange and tradition through this unique selection.

During the evening, we will be treated to a wide range of performances by talented musicians, including guzheng compositions, traditional dances, piano pieces and more. These musical pieces not only showcase the ancient and rich tradition of Chinese music, but also give us a glimpse of the profound meaning and unique charm of Chinese music.

British composer and pianist Cyril Scott’s music will also be on stage. His unique musical style is a fusion of Romanticism and Impressionism, often showing a deep reflection on nature and the universe. In particular, his work "Lotus Land" is one of his most popular compositions, reflecting his keen interest in Eastern cultures and his deep affection for nature.

We are also honoured to present the classical piano piece "Rush Hour in Hong Kong" by American composer Abram Chasins. This piece captures the pulse and hustle and bustle of Hong Kong's busy streets and transports us into a world of movement and energy.

Accompanied by the Chinese folk song "Liu Yang River", we will embark on another musical journey. In this concert, we will have the honour to listen to the rendition of Guzheng soloist. The Guzheng, as one of the traditional Chinese musical instruments with a long history and unique sound, brings out the wonderful mood of "Liu Yang River". Let's immerse ourselves in the music of the guzheng and experience the deep connection between emotion and nature while enjoying the wonderful pleasure that music brings.
